AI Training for Finance Teams in Malaysia: Controlled, HRD Corp Claimable, Built on Your Month-End

Your finance team brings a variance report, a procedure that needs documenting and a vendor contract. One day on the 4D Framework, built on that real work, and each person leaves with a working AI assistant and a clear rule for what it may never touch. It is the same AI Confidence workshop other teams get, shaped by finance's questions, and claimable against your HRD Corp levy.

What The Programme Is

Same Workshop. Built on Finance's Real Work.

This is not a separate finance course with its own curriculum. It is the one-day AI Confidence workshop, the same 4D Framework day every team gets, with the examples, exercises and questions drawn from finance's work. Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence: a structured way of thinking through AI use, not a list of prompts to memorise. AI adoption starts with leadership clarity, and in finance that clarity is mostly about boundaries.

What changes is the material in the room. Your team works on your own management reports, your own procedures, your own vendor terms and your own board packs, not sample files. By 5:00 PM every participant has a working AI assistant, set up on their real finance tasks and ready to use at the next close.

What Your Finance Team Leaves With

  • A working AI assistant per participant, set up on their own reporting and documentation tasks, not a demo
  • One shared method and one set of boundaries, so AI use in finance is visible and consistent rather than a dozen private experiments
  • A verification habit taught as a control: every figure traced to source before it is used
  • Faster first drafts of commentary, procedures and summaries, with judgement kept where it belongs

What Your Finance Team Will Use AI For

Built on the Work Finance Actually Does

The 4D Framework is taught on tasks your team already owns. These are the use cases finance teams most often bring into the room. Yours will be shaped by what your people bring on the day, because the exercises run on your files, not on samples.

Five Use Cases Your Team Builds On

01

Variance and Management Reporting Narratives

Turn the month's numbers into the commentary that goes with them: what moved, why, and what it means. AI writes the first pass from figures your team supplies; every number is verified against the source before it goes anywhere.

02

Policy and Procedure Documentation

Turn the way month-end actually runs into written procedures a new hire could follow. Participants learn how to give AI the context of a real process, and how to check the draft against what the team really does.

03

First-Pass Analysis of Contracts and Vendor Terms

Summarise a vendor agreement, flag payment terms, auto-renewals and penalties, and prepare the questions to ask. The read is a first pass for a professional to check, not a legal opinion.

04

Month-End Checklists and Process Documentation

Build the close checklist, the reconciliation steps and the handover notes from your own working files. The output is a working document your team keeps and refines, not a generic template.

05

Board and Audit Committee Summaries

Draft the one-page summary from a longer pack, in the register a board or audit committee expects. Your team decides what the numbers say; AI helps say it clearly and consistently.

HRD Corp claim, plainly: Sylvia is an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, so this workshop can be claimed against your company's HRD Corp levy. Claims run through a registered training provider, which is how the scheme works for every accredited trainer, and she liaises with her provider partners on your behalf. Allow about 30 days for the grant to be approved before training starts. Exact eligibility depends on your levy account. The full claim process is on the HRD Corp claimable AI training page.

Controls and Diligence

Checked Like a Junior Analyst's Work.

Finance teams are right to be cautious. The workshop treats AI output the way a controller treats a first-year analyst's spreadsheet: useful, fast, and never trusted until checked. Discernment and Diligence, the second half of the 4D Framework, are where the day spends much of its time. Your team leaves knowing what to delegate, what to verify and what never to paste into a chatbot.

  • Nothing enters the ledger from a chatbot. AI drafts narratives, documents and summaries; it does not post, reconcile or approve anything.
  • Every figure in an AI draft is traced back to its source before it is used. Verification is taught as a repeatable step, not left as a warning on a slide.
  • Data handling rules apply. Participants work with anonymised or non-sensitive files on tools your company allows, and learn what should never leave your systems.
  • AI can be confidently wrong about numbers and calculations. The workshop shows where that happens and how to design the task so it does not matter.

Who It's For

Built for Finance Teams Doing Real Work

CFOs, Finance Directors and Controllers

You want the productivity without the control risk. The workshop gives your team one shared method and one set of boundaries, instead of a dozen private experiments you cannot see.

FP&A, Reporting and Accounting Teams

You write more than the org chart suggests: commentary, packs, procedures, emails to auditors. Delegating first drafts, while keeping every number yours, changes the shape of month-end.

Finance and Operations Together

Shared services, procurement and finance operations can sit in the same session. The use cases overlap, and the handoffs between them are where the method pays off first.
